Event Description : THEATRE "Bebe Ka Chamba" Hindustani play.

1948. Newly partitioned Punjab. A houseful of women is mourning the death of the patriarch of the family. Four nubile daughters are ordered to remain housebound for an unspecified period of time, by Bebe, the matriarch of the family,. As the heat within the four walls increases, so does the sexual frustration amongst the daughters who are forbidden contact with men. The chaos of the partition transforms into the chaos within, as the young women battle seclusion,, subjugation, rising sexual desires and a longing for freedom. Based n Spanish playwright Federico Garcia's Lorca's `The House of Bernarda Alba'.

Live songs by Madanbala Sindhu, the diva of Punjabi folk and a recording artiste.
