The author of more than 35 books has come all the way from Australia to spread his brand of Spillman-isms! Celebrate Children's Day the Ken Spillman way! With the Jake series - Jake's GIGANTIC List, Jake's Cooking Craze and many more.
2:00pm- 4:00pm: Puppet Making Workshop by leading puppeteer Anurupa Roy for Age group: 6-10. Anurupa Roy has directed more than a dozen of critically acclaimed puppet theatre performances for children and adults ranging from the Ramayana and Mahabharata to Shakespearen comedy to the Humayun-nama. 7:00pm - THE LITTLE BLUE PLANET - Puppet Show about Earth & Global Warming (45 minutes) Director: Anurupa Roy. The show has been performed more than 50 times at International theatre festivals, schools in India & abroad including 2010 Summertime at Prithvi, Mumbai, 2010 Hippocampus Storytelling festival, Chennai and Bangalore, 2010 The India Festival, 2009 Kala Ghora Festival, Mumbai, Tchir Tchayan Festival, Siberia and Russia under ICCR.
19th November :
5:00pm - A panel of leading publishers and editors moderated by Arunava Sinha, Scroll Books editor & translator. Are Indian publishers ready to take their books to the world? Is the world ready to receive books from India?
6:00pm - Award winning Journalist Ravish Kumar reads from his book of poems and short stories Ishq Mein Shahar Hona.
7:00pm - The release of Bengali poet Shakti Chattopadhyay’s book of poems Very Close to Pleasure, There's a Sick Cat: And Other Poems translated by Arunava Sinha, accompanied by readings.
7:30pm - Amar Bel (Urdu/Hindustani/55mins) by Ismat Chugtai. Dastangoi by Sunil Mehra & Askari Naqvi. Bitter sweet poignant tale of an older man married to a nubile young woman. A multi layered story that offers many reads into gender/ sexuality/ patriarchy.
