Event Description : EXHIBITION "Edges of India: Karnataka & Goa" A Solo Show of Photography by Krish Bhalla

This World Photography Day Mr Krish Bhalla is presenting his documentary photographs at IGNCA in his maiden gallery exhibition Edges of India: Karnataka and Goa. The exhibition will be inaugurated at 5pm on Saturday, 19th in the presence of Mr Amit Mehra, leading multi-genre photographer.

Edges of India is a project that documents stories that emerge as a result of hundreds of years of amalgamation of cultures. It attempts to capture narratives that connect the traditional and modern worlds along the coastal and inland border regions of India, those that find themselves separated by geographical and temporal boundaries. The first part of this project which is to be displayed at IGNCA covers an eclectic mix of socio-economic and cultural subjects from the two states- ranging from fishing ports to coffee plantations, to incense makers and carpet weavers in Tibetan settlements of Karnataka.


About the artist: Krish Bhalla is a self-taught photographer. Trained as a pilot and experienced in sales, branding and social media marketing- he now specializes in Photography and Brand Consultation. Commercially, he has experience in event, music, fashion, product and food photography. With the proejct- Edges of India- he attempts to show documentary photography in an artistic light.
