A poetry in motion...
A danseuse par excellence and an eternal student of the art of Bharathanatyam, Divya hails from a family of artists. A devoted disciple and niece of the highly respected masters in the world of Bharathanatyam, “The Dhananjayans”, Divya has inherited the art in its most classical and pristine form. Toddling to rhythm at a young age, Divya’s devotion to the art of Bharathanatyam is total and over the years she has carved a unique niche for herself, leaving strong imprints wherever she performed. Fluid movements, fantastic expressions blended with intrinsic charisma, Divya creates an enchanting manifestation of this divine art form. Divya’s artistry is marked by ingenuity and her constant efforts to learn and discover bear testimony to her absolute dedication.
Divya has performed across geographies and strongly believes in passing on her experiences by nurturing and grooming talent for the future.
Divya holds the unique distinction of accompanying her gurus on stage at major performances and has played lead roles in a number of Bharata Kalanjali productions. Some of the highlights being “Sanghamitra” in Ashoka Sanghamitra, “Sita” in Sita Rama Katha. Divya is the recipient of the senior merit scholarship from the Govt. of India, a Distinction of Merit, in theory from ABHAI.
