Event Description : EXHIBITION : Alliance Française de Delhi presents "International Women Photographers Awards" a photography show.
The essence of IWPA is to promote women photographers around the world and act as a global platform. Following that mission and goal, the IWPA prize offers an exhibition that travels to various cities across the Middle East and Europe in order to show their work to a large and international audience.
Major cities and capitals i.e. Dubai, Paris, New Delhi, Port-Said, Alexandria, Toulouse, Cairo, Bahrain, Islamabad/Lahore are welcoming IWPA exhibition in 2017, allowing the laureate and finalists to showcase their work for almost one full year.
For its 2017 Edition, IWPA announced 11 photographers who have been selected from the total of 785 applications received from 84 countries. A prestigious panel of seven international experts from the field of photography has carefully reviewed the submissions to choose the laureate and the finalists.
The results show the outstanding success of the IWPA award around the world as the selected photographers come from Middle East, Europe, Asia and South America.

Haruri Fuji – lives in Tokyo (Japan), Japanese
Ranita Roy – lives in Kolkota (India), Indian
Sumy Sadurni – lives in Kampala (Uganda), Spanish
Soheila Sanamno – lives in Tabriz (Iran), Iranian
Neus Solà – lives in Barcelona (Spain), Spanish
Florencia Trincheri – lives in Buenos Aires (Argentina), Argentinian
The one shortlisted laureate Farah Salem has been awarded the prize to have a solo show at La Galerie, Alliance Française Dubai in 2018.
About the Award: The International Women Photographers Award is a photography award for women organized by Antidote art and design in collaboration with the International Women Photographers Association, MyArtSpy and Alliance Française, Dubai.
IWPA’s goal is to provide a platform for women photographers to exhibit their work to a wide and diverse audience. Established in 2001, the association helps women photographers to gain global recognition and to boost their careers creatively and professionally. IWPA invites all women photographers, professionals or amateurs, regardless of nationality, to participate and enter the yearly Award.
