Event Description : TALK "Sanjoy Roy on 'Skill- Care- Sustenance'" LILA Terra-Sutra Talk 1

Meet Sanjoy Roy: He is the Managing Director of Teamwork Arts, which produces over 25 highly acclaimed performing arts, visual arts and literary festivals across 40 cities in countries such as Australia, Canada, Egypt, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Israel, Korea, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, UK and USA, and includes the world’s largest literary gathering – the annual Jaipur Literature Festival. He has also produced and directed over 1000 hours of TV and film. He is a founder trustee of Salaam Baalak Trust, working to provide support services for street and working children in the inner city of Delhi where over 55,000 children have benefited from education, training and residential services.. The White House recently presented him the US President’s Committee of Arts and Humanities Award for an international organisation. He serves as an advisor for the arts and diversity for numerous government and non-governmental organisations across the world.

2017 marks a significant extension of LILA's vision and work. As a part of this new movement that we call LILA Terra-Sutra, we invite you to join us for a programme where we are collaborating with artist Probir Gupta (Muktangan) in whose dedication to train a team of underserved children as self-reliant artists and life-makers, we find the possibility of combining 'thinking' and 'knowing' with 'caring', 'connecting' and 'making a responsible choice'. 
You also get a chance to see the works of some of our brilliant artists who are supporting this project by exhibiting their works along with the children's.
LILA is bringing an intense series of reflections alongside Probir's project; we hope this will lead us to unexpected insights. Please note the dates and timings for the LILA TERRA-SUTRA CONVERSATIONS on Care, Connection and Choice.
