About: : A Feast of Literature: In this we meet Tejendra Sharma - an important story teller in Hindi literature. The famous story teller from London has given new horizons to Hindi short-story writing by introducing new themes, characters and situations. He has this uncanny art of speaking through his female character as only a woman could speak. In his story MAUT – EK MADHYANTAR, Tejendra Sharma through his character Puneet presents a wife who has never had a chance to spend time with her husband. And eventually when she gets this chance he is in the ICU fighting a losing battle with Cancer. These fifteen days in the ICU are the best days for Puneet as for the first time in her life she is with her husband all alone and these are the worst fifteen days as well as Harjeet his husband has reached the end of his fight against the Cancer Cells. Tejendra is not content with presenting the pain and struggle of Puneet alone in the story; his pen creates the agony, and helplessness of Harjeet and his mother as well. This story is about those fifteen days… Struggle and fight against Death. Tejendra’s pen has this unique power to bring the smell of medicines on the pages of the story while depicting the pain and suffering of Puneet and Harjeet. Harjeet is losing his breath when he tells Puneet, “My death cannot change the meanings of life…" This relationship is eternal, immortal
