Event Description : FILM "Khaneh Pedari – The Paternal House" as part of Festival of Films from Iran.

The Paternal House goes into the tragedy of an honour killing that won’t let a family find peace for multiple generations. The crime does not remain buried. Rather, it haunts the family. The story begins in 1929. Through a series of incidents that take place in ’46, ’66, right up to ’96 (each segment is set entirely within the walls of the claustrophobic homestead), the director compares shifting social attitudes while drawing attention to key continuities.
