Event Description : Select CITYWALK Invites you to Kargil Vijay Diwas.

As the nation prepares to commemorate the 17th anniversary of Kargil war, Select CITYWALK lines up to salute the brave soldiers of the nation. Saluting the bravado and courage of the gallant soldiers, the shopping destination will pay tribute to the fearless sons of the nation at India Gate, for the first time ever. They will be accompanied by the students of Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan.

Marking a significant and historic moment for corporates, the Chairman of Select CITYWALK will lay a wreath at the war memorial. We salute the undying ' spirit of sacrifice ' of the men in uniform, who guard the frontiers in dire conditions.

• 250 students of Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan will conduct a “A Walk Of Tribute” carrying banners and placards conveying the gratitude of a grateful nation to our soldiers who selflessly serve the country in war and in peace alike.

• A flash mob by 250 students, as they call out the war cries of the various regiments of the Army, will be a moving presentation especially for our Armed Forces.

Further, a 20 feet installation of 'AMAR SIPAHI- The immortal Soldier will be unveiled on 20th July, 2016 at Select CITYWALK. The beauty of this installation lies in the fact that it has been carved out of 80,000 pieces of ornamental bullets and bullet shells. Also, the shoppers visiting the shopping centre can pay tribute to the heroes in uniform by writing messages of gratitude and love on postcards for the soldiers posted at Kargil.

Select CITYWALK will mark the occasion on 24th July with soulful performances, poignant speeches and video films in the Plaza in presence of martyrs’ families, esteemed dignitaries from the Armed Forces and a huge audience of shoppers and visitors.

The neighbourhood shopping destination will witness the launch of the book ‘Param Vir ,Vikram Batra- the SHER SHAH of Kargil’ - A father’s biography remembering his son, a great soldier who was awarded the highest gallantry award - the Paramvir Chakra for making the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty.

We will have the honor of the company of Paramvir Chakra awardee, Subedar Yogendra Singh Yadav, who will grace the occasion with his presence. Noticeably, Yadav is one of the living legends of Indian Army who have received Param Veer Chakra.
