Event Description : DANCE : Bharatanatyam Recital by Tanya Saxena from Delhi, disciple of Guru Smt Saroja Vaidyanathan.

Tanya Saxena, disciple of of Guru Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan and Smt.Rama Vaidyanathan, will present a Bharatanatyam recital on 29th July, 2016under the aegis of the India International Centre. Tanya is an upcoming artist in the field of Bharatanatyam.Praised by critics for her elegant stage presence and strong lines, Tanya has performed extensively across India and abroad, performing in Japan, Canada, Spain, Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai and Bhubaneshwar, to name a few, and will next be performing at the Madras Music Academy as part of their Spirit of Youth Festival. She is also an active performer with Spicamacay and a graded artist of Doordarshan. Apart from performing, she is also currently pursuing her Masters in Bharatanatyam from Tamil Nadu University and serving as a senior faculty member at Ganesa Natyalaya, New Delhi. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Hindu College, Delhi University and enjoys writing poetry in her spare time, for which she has been awarded a silver medal from President Adbul Kalaam. Tanya will present choreographies of her Gurus in the format of the Bharatanatyam margam. She will be accompanied by Dr. Vasudevan Iyengar on nattuvangam, K. Venkateshwaran on vocal, Sumod Sreedhar on Mridangam and Rajat Prasanna on flute. The concert begins at 6.30 and all are welcome to attend.
