Behroopiya Entertainers Presents Khushfahamiyaan, A play in Hindustani.
The stage production ‘Khushfahamiyaan’, written, conceptualised and directed by actor, author Manil Mayank Mishra is idealogically, an extension of Urdu poet Ghalib’s eternal couplet ‘humko maloom hai jannat ki hakeekat lekin...’Khushfamiyaan’ is about those fundamental emotions, love and hatred. The story says its love which is the strongest emotion and doesn’t really die though it seems a little withdrawn. Times are audacious to fill the voids and heel the scars but a distinguished love leaves an indelible impression on a jilted heart. The story is such which questions the acceptance of lost love in life. On the one hand, there are promises to keep and on the other, there is this broken heart which still is ready to embrace lost love and its brittle conditions. The story also tells how love, while being a tender emotion, can become strong and make someone practically insane beyond morality and acceptance. A little bit of ‘Khushfahamiyaan’ is in everyone’s life. The story is rooted to the convention that if you have gone too far, its time, come back. And then, it isn’t late if you realise it for deep down you know that ‘he’ is still waiting. It is a story of sacrifice, submission to the screams of a heart, how important it is to have a shoulder to cry upon and an eternal question which perhaps everyone needs an answer to, what would you do when your estranged love comes back especially when you really are not in a position to accept it.

Khushfahamiyaan. A word, an idea, alchemy or simply an extension of the soul of legend Urdu poet Ghalib’s magical couplet:

“Humko Maloom Hai Jannat Ki Hakeekat Lekin

Dil Ke Khush Rakhne Ko Ghalib Yeh Khayal Achcha Hai”

Written and directed by actor, trainer and mentor, Manil Mayank Mishra, Khushfahamiyaan 2 is a theatrical interpretation of all mirages we live in. Essentially, love, the tenderest of all emotions, which begins with promises and togetherness fizzles away with doubts in the practical world. Love encompasses hurt, grief and sorrow when not met with the great expectations it begins with. Life moves on but with a vacuum. Khushfahamiyaan celebrates and explains the agony of broken hearts and crumpled relationships. It also breaks the conventional myth that love can’t happen beyond a conventional relationship. It questions the political distance between nations and establishes that geographical differences can never separate human connection. It also tells the side of an estranged story as there was silence for there was nothing more to say then.

Khushfahamiyaan 2 is a story of a soulful man who does’t go for the correctness or logic behind love. He sees love as a pristine metaphor however, when it clashes with the perceived social definitions, he gets hurt but doesn’t let his soul go and consequently decides to be a loner. The stage production also explains how a rusty relationship can relive its lost moments if there is someone who can equally understand the pain and grief associated with it. Narrated from an organic and everyday’s perspective of a commoner, Khushfahamiyaan 2 is contemporary, today’s and very much in our lives. Conclusively, it’s a valid and beautiful extension of anybody’s dreams, aspirations and innocence which have been lost somewhere in the chaos of a practical world and its questions of sustenance.
