"To say that Ulhas ji is today amongst the most erudite and melodious vocalists of India, is to just state the obvious. That he is able to sustain his immense popularity without pandering to populist expectations, makes it all the more remarkable. Every time Vinod S. Kapur hear Ulhas ji, I wonder whether it is at all possible for his music to get any better. Yet, every time Vinod S. Kapur discern a new verve in his musical expression, bringing to Vinod's mind the concept of the Horizon, which continually moves on as one seeks to approach it."
Pt. Ulhas Kashalkar, is undoubtedly at the apex of the Indian Vocal Music scene at present. His music is a unique blend of three Gharanas - Gwalior, Jaipur and Agra. He is a resident Guru at the prestigious ITC SRA (Sangeet Research Academy), a Sangeet Natak Academy awardee as well as a Padmashri recipient.
