Event Description : EXHIBITION “The Cosmos of Consciousness” A Solo Show of Paintings by Alka Bhrushundi
Alka Bhrushundi is a renowned Delhi-based artist, born and brought up in the spiritual city of Pune, is presenting a solo art exhibition at AIFACS in the month of April. Her passion for art was developed in her very birth city Pune and to her the love for art is always a journey of exploring the inner soul.
Been raised in an environment where spirituality and the power of divine is rooted quite deeply in the tender mind of the artist, have influenced her to depict the Gods and Goddesses of ancient Hindu mythology in her art work. By holding hands of the traditional art technique she took a giant leap in the world of art and never looked back.
Art has always been a passion for Alka. It has never been just the process of picking up a canvas or a sheet of paper and putting some color onto it. It has been a journey of exploring her inner most thoughts and feelings. The entire process, from the conceptualization to the execution is cathartic for her and it takes the artist beyond this world of mundanity into a world filled with colours, patterns, shapes, and above all, hopes and dreams.
“The Cosmos of Consciousness” – title of her solo art exhibition is a glass door to the magnificent universe we belong to. The stillness of dark night and the sterling crystals spread across, that spellbound scenic beauty has always been her source of inspiration. She have always believed that there exists some kind of Cosmic Energy in the universe; we have given it a form and worshiped it, for time immemorial, as God. This idea has been ever fascinating to me and recently decided to take one step towards the understanding of this Cosmic Energy and the universe.
Alka started to give shape to her creativity through fashion designing where she was introduced to the wide interplay of colours, shapes, lines and forms. It was through the traditional style of paintings that she took the first step in her journey into the magnificent world of art. Hindu mythology being her forte of expressions she has now ventured into exploring and expressing the Nirgun Nirakar (the one that is formless and without attributes) aspect, through her paintings.
