Event Description : Fd Zone, Delhi Presents "Castaway Man" Documentary Film Screening.
The film revolves around the figure of Dor Bahadur Bista, a leading anthropologist and intellectual of Nepal who is best known for his seminal study of Nepali society, “Fatalism and Development”. The film explores the mystery of his disappearance as well as the ideas that he stood for, which made him a very controversial voice in Nepal. By tracing the legacy of Dor Bahadur Bista, the film offers an incisive analysis of caste structures in contemporary Nepal today. Castaway Man is one of the films produced as part of The Justice Project, a project that maps a range of contests on the idea and practices of justice as they take shape in different sites of South Asia.
