Event Description : Art Quest presents "Percolation" 8th solo show of Paintings by Somnath Adhikary
Artist's Comment : The very base of art is its essence and aesthetic feeling . Then it gradually gets its formation . The creation acquires its meaning through explicit use of colours . Through the lines & colours of depiction, the true art is formed .
Nature is an inspiration for all . Each artist uses his own perspective to utilize Nature and its elements through his art . Nature and art are woven into one . An artist uses these elements to create art which has various manifestations in the form of literature , music dance forms, drama and of course art .
The creator of this wondrous Nature has added a new dimension in all my new creation. So my art work encompasses Nature in all its form and fervour .
Since time ummemorial art had been displayed through paper or canvas . But my new creations includes an absolute unique flavour , where I have introduced Nature’s elements like wood for my creations. To be explicit , I have used ‘Sonajuri ‘ wooden slices as my medium of work . I have utilized and given vent to my feelings through these natural wooden slices for my very own creations.
The potential of such pieces of wood available in Nature remained ignorant and hidden for centuries
This admixture of Nature’s gift to us and my artistry gives rise to a new dimension of art form . So , my creations are to bring out the hidden and unrecognised Natural Elements to the forefront . Quite naturally I have blended my feeling and creative innovations in accordance to the subject chosen.
The medium of fibre veins found in the wood and the subject chosen brings out a unique purity of thoughts and creations which is not in discord with our mother Nature.
My work includes a wide range of thoughts and expression and its subject speaks about either a human form, birds, a beast or mythological characters .
Though rigorous observation I have been able to utilize my creations through this unparalleled exhibition of Nature . So I would remain eternally indebted to Nature for providing me with inexhaustible inspiration .
