Albert Memmi, born in Tunis in 1920, is considered a precursor of the Francophonie. From what he calls his triple roots: Jewish, Tunisian and French, Albert Memmi has forged an alloy, which does not exclude a fair amount of doubt. He is a politically committed writer, but in an individual way, resistant to cliques and dogmas.
