Event Description : "Manjari- Mystique Fragrances" Solo Bharatanatyam recital by Divya Ravi, disciple of Dr. Soundarya Srivathsa.

As part of Habitat Concert Series.

 Divya Ravi was initiated into Bharatanatyam at the age of 5. Her love for dance gradually changed to deep rooted passion and serious pursuit. 

Training :
A student of Bharatanatyam for 18 years now, Divya hones her skills as a soloist under the guidance of Guru Dr. Soundarya Srivathsa. 
She had the privilege of being trained in her formative years under Gurus Karnataka Kalashree Sri Kiran Subramanyam and Smt Sandhya Kiran and also performed her Rangapravesha under their watchful guidance.
Divya also had the opportunity to dabble into various aspects of Kathak and creative choreography under Karnataka Kalashree Gurus Sri TD Rajendra and Smt. Nirupama Rajendra, performing as a principal dancer with Abhinava Dance Company
Divya is a graded artiste of Doordarshan. She is also a recipient of the "Nritya Varsha Deep" Award and the "Swar Anand Kala Puraskar".
Divya holds a distinction in the Junior and Senior Bharatanatyam Examinations conducted by Karnataka Secondary Education Board.

Divya engages her creative and linguistic instincts by avidly writing art related articles and interviews  for "Ananya Kalasinchana" a bilingual magazine for the arts published by ANANYA (A Bangalore based Art promoting organization founded by Dr. RV Raghavendra). She also serves as a Programme Committee member of ANANYA.
