Event Description : Project Motley presents "Waltz with a Chimera" film screening & discussion as part of 'Young Masculinities' series.
In contrast to the other films in this series, this film is an ongoing project. At this juncture, it is collection of video journal entries by different couples, tracing gender in their relationship. The followup discussion after this film is also filmed to further feed into this documentary.

Background : Young Masculinities is a series of film screenings and discussions conducted by Project Motley. The films explore diverse subjects like masculine and feminine ideals in advertising, pedagogy of violent masculinity in films and music, how ideas of masculinities interact with the experience of fatherhood and what dating and relationships look like when young men and women commit to working towards equality in their relationships. It is hoped that each screening will be followed by an honest and open discussion, with men of all ages about their experiences with these institutions and their opinions of what they saw on the screens.The events are open to general public. However, young men and their partners/ parents/aunts & uncles/ teachers are particularly encouraged to attend.
About the Organization: Project Motley is an interdisciplinary arts initiative whose aim is to encourage critical thought.
