Synopsis
Girish Kasaravalli is an internationally renowned Indian Filmmaker who has made highly acclaimed films such as Ghatashraddha, Thai Saheb, Dweepa and Gulabi Talkies..

Besides being famous for their simplicity and realism, his films are known for their insightful analysis of socio-political undercurrents in the multi-textured and equally complex social fabric of India.
All of his films are rooted in local culture and yet these films have travelled beyond the boundaries and have been hugely appreciated as “world cinema". A down to earth approach to film-making has earned him the reputation of creating an unique language of cinema, which excels in “culturing realism".

LIFE IN METAPHORS journeys into the world of the master film maker. with an urge to understand the language, grammar and the core purpose of storytelling through the medium of cinema.

About the Organization : Reelism was born in 2005 when a group of young cine enthusiasts from the corporate world decided to follow their passion and took up the task of making a low budget feature film to test their mettle. The result was a film called ‘Missed Call’, made by a cast & crew, wherein almost everybody was the first timer, except for the celebrated sound wizard Resul Pookatty, who encouraged the young team not only to complete the film in spite of so many odds , but also graciously added his magic to the background sound track of the film. The film, shot in quasi Cinéma Vérité style won many prestigious international awards besides getting high critical acclaim.
