Event Description : "Dusk To Down : Inner Journey through the Night" Kathak Based Production by Olga Chepelianskaia.

Masters degree holder in Kathak & Russian Born French grown choreographer and performer Olga Chepelianskaia, will present a  Kathak based production with a contemporary touch.

Anchored in the classical Kathak dance form, “Dusk to Dawn” is an innovative production that experiments with extensions in movement and choreography based on the creative experience of contemporary compositions. Richness of traditional rhythms, raags and movements finds a renewed inspiration, speaks and expresses a theme that touches us in present times.

Inner Journey through the Night
In the dusk I step. Into a journey.
Symbolic stillness of the night.
Resonating silence, transparent darkness - unveil my inner sight.
The night is a fertile soil to grow to the scale of eternity.
By when comes the dawn.

The performance is a travel from daily agitation, a step into the dusk time, which immerses us into a meaningful stillness, brings questioning, observation, fruitful inner conflict. Profundity of the night, experienced in all its depth and shades, unveils our core self, reveals magic of beauty surrounding us, and connects to God.  And dawn meets us then. For a truly new beginning.

The production has been made possible by the kind support of The Russian Caviar House LLP – Official Sponsor -  and the India Habitat Centre, which promotes and gives a platform to young talented artists.

Renowned Sarangi player, vocalist and music composer Suhail Usuf Khan has created a special music composition to enhance on all varieties of moods in the performance.  Bright and talented musicians Shariq Mustafa (Tabla, Parhant), Ritesh Prasanna(Bansuri) and  Ritwik De (Gguitar) are part of the orchestra and will bring this subtle blend of traditional Hindustani music with a Western feel to the audience.
