Event Description : VSK Baithak with Gundecha Bandhu.
Gundecha Bandhus Umakant & Ramakant are in the forefront of the new generations of "Dhrupadhiyas"who have successfully enhanced the melodiousness of this Dhrupad Gayaki to herald its renaissance. An integral aspect of this revival has been their ability to extend frontiers traditionally associated with Dhrupad. Virginia Nicoli with her silverflute and Igino Giovanni Brunori with his Saxophone both Italians, are two outstanding examples of this outreach. The music is Dhrupad in all its grandeur, steeped in tradition & embellished by the sounds of instruments which seamlessly suffuse melodic line. As always Akhilesh Gundecha will accompany them on Pakhawaj."
