Event Description : Trikalaa Gurukulam presents "Anantham-Aanandam-A Journey Back To Godhead" a confluence of three Indian classical dance styles Bharatnatyam, Mohiniyattam, and Odissi.
The concept of the presentations is Anantham-Aanandam which shall depict the evolution of the world from matter to mind where everything has turned chaotic. From pollution to purity is a journey back to Godhead, to Providence - the true source who remains thecause of all causes and the effect of all effects.Anantham-Aanandam gathers this divine manifestation through a dawning awareness of the One Truth. It is this awareness of this inner harmony permeating through all creation that accords true bliss or ‘aanandam which will be the highlight of this dance presentation.
The artists of the evening shall be Deepti Omchery Bhalla, a Senior Professor of Carnatic Music, at the Faculty of Music and Fine Arts ,University of Delhi and a leading exponent of Mohiniattam and recipient of the Kendra Sangeet Natak Award ( national award by the President of India), Lata Surendra, one of the Vice-presidents in the International Dance Council-UNESCO, is a Bharatnatyam Performer, Teacher & Choreographer of repute as well as founder of Anjali BharataNatyam Research Trust, Mumbai and Swapnokalpa Dasgupta (Roychowdhury), an outstanding disciple of legendary Guru KelucharanMahapatra and Guru Poushali Mukherjee, who is a proficient Odissi dancer and Head of Dance at the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Mumbai.
TrikalaaGurukulam, is a Delhi based cultural institution founded by Padma Shri awardee Professor. Dr.LeelaOmchery, a renowned artist, a well known Carnatic Musician, musicologist and author as well as scholar of the Mohiniyattam dance style of Kerala. Today, DeeptiOmcheryBhalla is taking forward the traditions of this dance form under the guidance of her Guru and mother.Carnatic Musician, musicologist and author.
