PICSDREAM is the first Indian platform for photographers to share, showcase and monetize their artworks. Conceived by Mahesh Nair, a photographer himself, PICSDREAM aims to be a true visual art community for photographers to share best practices and learn from experts. It is a true marketplace to connect the photographers to buyers of affordable art. With a website (www.picsdream.com) and apps for Android and IOS devices, PICSDREAM is poised to revolutionize the photography space in India.
Followed by a cocktail reception at the Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre
Photosphere is a singular initiative of the India Habitat Centre. Centered around Photography and Sustainable Development, it also has a component of art and education in the form of four special awards which will be given to Indian photographers who will be then mentored by our festival advisors.
The official launch and public announcement of Photosphere will take place in the presence of the four festival advisors: Aditya Arya, Bandeep Singh, ParthivShah, and Prabir Purkayastha.
Photosphere will be a grand yearlong festival, celebrating photography around the metanarrative of the "Panchatattvas" or the five elements - earth, water, fire, air and ether - with an emphasis on Sustainable Development
Starting with the announcement on 5th November 2015, Photosphere will run a number of stimulating workshops, lectures and discussions by eminent cultural practitioners of lens based works and ecological studies.
The yearlong events will lead to the opening of the month long festival at the India Habitat Centre on the 1st December 2016, accompanied by a significant photobook/catalogue which will feature the work of the selected awardees and prominent thinkers on the subject of Sustainable Development.
