Nobody wants Death in their living room. Before we know it, a new lease of life enters Ana Nil’s musty world, her estranged lover Jo visits, her rich godson Born Kuber rushes in for shelter from a wild storm and Dr.Zeus is summoned to investigate the stranger in the house, Mr.Yameer. How do you present the situation in Syria on stage? The answer is to focus on a journey. The story is told by a woman who is of mixed Syrian-German parentage. As she stands in her Paris kitchen making kubah, a classic Syrian meat dish, she recalls her encounter with an exiled Damascene medical worker, Ashraf. She has helped the guilt-ridden Ashraf, with the aid of Skype, organise the escape of fellow Syrians and for three months the two of them become lovers. When Ashraf disappears, she goes on a labyrinthine journey in search of him that leads to encounters with some of Syria's 2 million refugees and stirs deep ancestral memories…

A story set in an old world haveli where its protagonist, an artist struggles to preserve her identity and cherished heritage. A 'conflict' of the tradition and the modern between her and her Chicago-based fiancé. A question that most of us ask ourselves in any ‘developing’ city or urban society globally: do we define our space or does our space define us? If home is where the heart is, what does ‘home’ really mean– is it the four walls of a house or the deeper, metaphysical ‘space’ within us?
