Event Description : "Badhshala" film screening as part of FFSI International Film Festival.
A story of torture inside an army barrack- Bhairab Nath Gand, during the emergency period due to Maoists insurgency. An innocent teacher is taken to Badshala on accusations of being a Maoist. He faces torture and such humiliation as to make his hopes of leaving the barrack alive, die eventually. The army battalion is shown to contain many detainees both innocent civilians and Maoists cadres, who are forced to commit themselves to being Maoists by signing a declaration and then being eventually killed in a jungle.
