Event Description : "We Come From Far Away" Argentina documentary film screening as part of FFSI International Film Festival. 
The film pays homage to the immigrant ancestors of the people of the neighborhood of La Boca, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The piece is less an anthropological or historical portrait of an era than a theatrical celebration of a neighborhood’s collective memory. It is, as theater group Catalinas Sur points out, a tribute to their ancestor's hopes, sufferings and yearnings as uprooted migrants, to the solidarity and daily toils at play in the neighborhood's public spaces, to the joy of their songs and their celebrations, to their love and their struggle for survival.
