About the Great Himalayan National Park 
A UNESCO World Heritage site, The Great Himalayan National Park is a rich biodiversity and home to several rare and threatened species of flora and fauna, including the western tragopan, chir pheasant, snow leopard, Himalayan musk deer, Asiatic black bear, blue sheep and serow. This national park is located in Kullu region in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It embodies the ancient method of environmental conservation in the Kullu valley. Around 25 threatened IUCN red-listed plant species are recorded from the park.  
The Great Himalayan National Park, initially constituted in 1984, was formally declared a National Park in 1999, covering an area of 754.4 sq kms. 

About Sanjeeva Pandey : Dedicated most of his life to wildlife conservation in Himachal Pradesh, Sanjeeva Pandey,was in Doha to plead the case for the UNESCO heritage status in 2014.

  1. The Great Himalayan National Park represents superlative natural beauty and high biodiversity of the Western Himalayas. The Park is situated in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh in North India and has been ascribed as a World Heritage Site in 2014.
