About Begum Akhtar Academy of Ghazal : Begum Akhtar Academy of Ghazal (BAAG) was founded in 1994 to encourage the almost dying language of Urdu and the art of Ghazal. BAAG has been recognizing the work of well-known contemporary Shayars and notable Ghazal Singers with lifetime achievement recognition by conferring the prestigious Begum Akhtar Academy of Ghazal Award.This incidentally is the only award that imparts training in Ghazal exclusively.
