Event Description : CMS Vatavaran presents "Kali Bein (The Black River)" English Documentary film screening.
A 160-kilometer long historic river named 'Kali Bein' which has been associated with the socio-cultural-economic life of the people of Punjab since ancient times, falls prey to industrialization, urbanization and turns into the dirtiest of garbage littered streams. With the passage of time, the stream vanishes and the river finally dies. Consequences are terrible- people suffer for years, till they are finally motivated by a saint- Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal, to revive the river.
Director : Surendra Manan
