Event Description : Bhisham Sahni As Playwright "Amritsar Aa Gaya" Hindi Play As part of 'Life-Word-Image: A Hundred Years Of Bhisham Sahni' series.
Based on a collection of stories by Bhisham Sahni, the play depicts different aspects of human emotions & shows how relationships are affected by social, political and religious circumstances. While Misery reflects upon the pain one goes through after the death of a loved one, Purity highlights the hypocrisy that underlies at times a man-woman relationship. SardarJi and Amritsar Aa Gaya highlight issues of communalism, while Apratyaksh highlights the insensitivity of society towards transgender.
