Event Description : Utsav-Ranjana's Odissi Dance Academy presents "Saare Jahan Se Accha, 2015" a two-day festival of Indian classical dance to celebrate Independence Day.
The theme of “Saare Jahan Se Accha” this year focuses on ‘Svatanya- The Ultimate Freedom’ which is an integral aspect of Indian philosophy, and this will be depicted through various dance forms that will highlight the epitome of love and freedom – Krishna:The liberator. Universal peace emanates from respecting the right of freedom of all living beings.
Eminent and established artists from different regions of the country including the Northeast and from abroad have been invited to perform and participate in the festival, who will pay their tribute to the nation and celebrate the joy of ‘Svatanya-The Ultimate Freedom’.
Utsav Educational & Cultural Society has contributed immensely to inculcate love and pride for the rich cultural heritage of our country with focus and dedication towards the promotion, propagation and preservation of the cultural traditions of India, especially Odissi dance and music. In its 28 years of existence, Utsav has grown tremendously under the experienced guidance of Padmashri awardee Smt Ranjana Gauhar. She has successfully steered the academy through teaching, training, personality development, music seminars, lec-dems and performances towards showcasing the strength and relevance of our country’s performing arts in society.
Utsav’s several cultural initiatives are festivals such as Saare Jahan Se Accha, Unbound Beats of India, Kalingutsav, Su-Tarang etc. The repertory artists of Utsav have been highly lauded at prestigious festivals held in India and abroad for its high standards of excellence in performance showcasing the richness of our classical dance traditions.
