Event Description : The Indian Express Group presents "Fandry" Marathi film screening with English Subtitles
The story focuses on a romance set amidst caste-based discrimination. Set in Akolner, a village near Ahmednagar, the film is about a Dalit teenager, who lives at the village fringe, and falls in love with an upper caste girl. Winner of multiple awards including Grand Jury Prize, Mumbai International Film Festival; Best Child Actor & Indira Gandhi Award for Best Debut Director, 61st National Film Awards & Best Indian Feature Film, Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles. Screening followed by discussion with Shubhra Gupta, film critic.
