Narrated by Emmy Award winner, Toni Collette, the film is a rare behind the scenes examination of life among the Dalai Lama's most dedicated scholarly monks, the Gyuto Monks of Tibet, known around the world for their chanting. But that is only one element of life for monks who have dedicated themselves to the pursuit of personal perfection and the bettering of life for all beings. Several Gyuto elders reveal never-before-told stories detailing the monks first chanting tour of the West and their harrowing and treacherous walk over the Himalayan mountains to escape the horrors of Tibet’s desecration and destruction in 1959.
