Event Description : Italian Opera: The Great Season Of Melodrama: Verdi, Puccini, Ponchielli, Ernani, Tosti & Mascagni.
During the 1.5- 2 hr musical escapade, the artists Angela Papale (Soprano) and Fabio Marra (Pianist) will take you through a series of librettos from the greatest Italian Operas of all times composed by the greatest composers Verdi, Puccini, Ponchielli, Ernani, Tosti & Mascagni
After brilliantly completing her music studies in Italy at her town conservatory, Angela Papale continued her vocal training under the tutelage of the great Italian singers Magda Olivero, Paolo Montarsolo & Fiorenza Cossotto.
Awarded in numerous lyrical international competitions, such as the Cascina Lirica, San Remo Classica & Città di Roma, she is involved in intense concert activities in Italy and all around the world. She collaborates with important orchestras such as the Roma Sinfonietta, the national symphony orchestra of Mexico, Milano Simphonic, etc., According to critics, she has a “warm and wonderful timbre and a particularly expressive voice combined with a strong stage presence”.
Concert pianist, conductor, teacher at the G.Nicolini State Conservatory of music in Piacenza and at the Music University of Cremona, advisor to major music and lyric organizations and theatres, such as the Teatro Alla Scala, Teatro Carlo Felice, Genoa and Fondation Royaumont, Paris, Fabio Marra is graduated with high honours in piano, composition and conducting.
He has conducted in many concerts such as the Accademia Strumentale
Italiana, Bari Symphonic Orchestra, The New Symphonic of Milan, Orchestra Scarlatti in Naples and The Simphonic Orchestra of Teatro Guaira in San Paolo (Brazil) with whom he led a major tour through South america. He is assistant to the renowned conductor and musicologist Alberto Zedda, for the production of Rossini Operas, as well as researching unedited 18th century operas of the Ancient Neapolitan School. He has rediscovered some works by Paisiello and Piccinni and published a critical edition of the opera "Lo Sposo Burlato" (1768). Recently he received the “Enap Prize” in Rome, for his musical and artistic contribution.
