Event Description : Assam Association, Delhi In collaboration with India International Centre Film Club presents "Camera Along the Brahmaputra – Celebrating 80 Years of Assamese Cinema" A festival of award-winning films from Assam.

Assamese cinema was born eight decades ago with Rupkonwar Jyotiprasad Agarwalla’s Joymoti in 1935 and has been enriched through the works of stalwarts like Bishnu Prasad Rabha, Phani Sarma, Jahnu Barua, Dr. Bhabendra Nath Saikia, Nip barua, Padum Barua, Dr. Bhupen Hazarika, Abdul Majid, Brojen Barua, Gautam Borah, Pulak Gogoi, Munin Barua, Siba Prasad Thakur and many more through the years. The festival presents a window to Assamese cinema with a screening of two classics and six contemporary films as per the schedule overleaf. We cordially invite you to participate in the celebration.
