Event Description : Nirtyashilp - Guru Surendranath Jena Odissi Dance Foundation presents "Shilpyatra" a journey through sculptural traditions of Odisha in Odissi dance. 

Performance by disciples of Guru Pratibha Jena Singh. 

Guru Surendranath Jena's Odissi style is a unique, dynamic style inspired by the temple sculptures of Odisha. His dance style brings alive Odisha's rural culture in everyday life and Odisha's various arts: Jatra theatre, 'patachitra' scrolls, 'talapatra' paintings, Oriya texts etc. In this recital we present his exquisite compositions showcasing temple sculptures of the Lingaraj, Jagannath Puri, Konark, Rajrani and Chausath Yogini temple and the rituals, cultural practices, life and traditions depicted on the temple walls rendered into Odissi movements.
