Event Description : Delhi Crafts Council Present "Sanjhi " Exhibition of New Works in Hand Cut Paper.
The exhibition will feature different designs themes which have been chosen to reflect and echo traditional Sanjhi patterns of Stylized Trees and Mughlai Jaalis.Its a tribute to the crafts as well as to the dedicated families in Mathura who continue to practice this craft and have engaged fully in its development. As part of the temple rituals in this region, intricate multicolored rangoli or floor patterns are created with coloured powder using the stencils. Delhi Crafts Council has been involved in sanjhi for more than three decades and has thus ensured that it has moved to a much wider audience and public space.
