Event Description : Renowned senior artists as well as a number of upcoming juniors have
joined hands with Mehac Foundation (Mental Health Care and Research Foundation), to express solidarity and support to public health initiatives in mental health and palliative care. This initiative has taken the form of an art exhibition titled 'ART FOR MEHAC' .

Mehac Foundation has been carrying out initiatives addressing mental disorders among the socially and economically backward sections of the society for the past eight years. The Foundation also incorporates palliative care to give relief to people with chronic diseases. Registered as Charitable Trust in New Delhi (registration number 1850 October 2008), Mehac Foundation's community based mental health care is taken forward through a network of clinics and care-homes involving the public and a variety of local partners, including institutions of local self government and non- governmental organisations.

The public health initiatives of Mehac Foundation have made a difference to hundreds of persons with psychiatric problems as well as their families spread across several districts of Kerala. These include the districts of Alappuzha, Ernakulum, Palakkad, Thrissur, Kannur, Malappuram and Wayanad. During this period, we have provided care and contributed in the rehabilitation of over 1200 needy persons.

The participating artists are Abhimanue V.G., Anah Iqbal, Anujath Sindhu Vinaylal, Anuj Kumar Vishwakarma, Anup Kumar Chand, Arpana Caur, Balan Nambiar, Bhaskaran Bara, Bijay Biswaal, Binoy Varghese, Bose Krishnamachari, Cyriac Varghese, Easwar Subramony, Indrapramit Roy, Jawed Aslam, Joy Paul Jayadiri, Mohamed Nisar, Mukesh Sharma, Murali Nagapuzha, Pankaj Mistry, Pradeep L. Mishra, Priti Vadakkath, Ritu Kamath, Riyas Komu, Roy Thomas, Sanam, Sangeeta Sharma, Sayam Bharath Yadav, Seema Kohli, Seena Devaki, Shibu Natesan, Suresh Muthukulam, Tapan Dash, Vasudevan Akkitham, and Yusuf Arakkal.
