Event Description : FD Zone presents "Nine Months To Freedom" documentary film screening.
A chronicle of the war that began in March 1971 and ended in December 1971, and led to the formation of Bangladesh. It was a few months into the war that would eventually lead to the liberation of Bangladesh, when a filmmaker began to film the exodus of refugees from what was then East Pakistan into Calcutta. Initially, all S. Sukhdev wanted to do was make a film on the meaninglessness of war. As he kept shooting, it turned into a chronicle of Bangladesh's fight for freedom. This documentary has the unusual distinction of not just getting a theatrical release, but also running for 12 weeks in Bombay.
Director : S.Sukhdev
