Activities :
The National Sports Meet for the Blind organized biannually by IBSA is the largest and most prestigious sports event for the visually challenged athletes in the country. Being held regularly since 1982 the National Sports Meets have immensely helped in generating interest in and spreading sports culture among institutions and visually challenged youth all over the country. The untiring efforts of IBSA over the years by way of organizing National Sports Meets and conducting other activities like introducing and promoting new sports such as Football, Kabaddi, judo and Powerlifting, organizing coaching camps and seminars, facilitating participation in international sports events have contributed to tremendous enhancement of level of blind sports in the country.
Blind athletes have brought laurels to the nation by winning 1 silver and 3 bronze medals in 4th World Championship in Turkey in 2011 and also 2 silver and 3 bronze Medals in the recently concluded Para Asia held in Korea in October, 2014
The 9th National Football Tournament, 6th Powerlifting Championship, 3rd Kabaddi Tournament, 1st Judo Championship and Athletic Coaching Camp will be held on -10 January, 2015 and around 250 sports persons from across India will participate in these events. The performance in these events will form the basis for selecting Indian Football Powerlifting Judo teams to take part in 5th World Championships and Games to be held in Seoul, Korea in May 2015.
