Event Description : "Contribution Of Buddhism To India's Secular Fabric" a talk.

Celebrating 25 years of Prasiddha Foundation. 

Speakers : Prof.Lokesh Chandra, President, Indian Council for Cultural Relations & Prof. Samdhong Rinponche, Buddhist scholar. 

Followed by premier of "Mount Of Excellence" documentary film screening.
A documentary featuring the Maitreya Buddha lineage. It connects the Maitreya Buddha emanation to Guru Rinpoche or Lord Padmasambhava, Lord Marpa and to the present day 12th Chamgon Kenting Tai Situpa Rinpoche and the Palpung Sherabling Monastic seat hidden in the folds of the heady pine forests in Himachal Pradesh in India. Palpung Sherabling is also the famed monastery that won the Grammy award in 2004 in the traditional music section for it’s Sacred Chants. The documentary features H.H. The Dalai Lama, H.H. The 17th Karmapa and high Tibetan Lamas speaking about the brilliance of the 
Palpung lineage.

Director : Shivajee Chandrabhushan 
Shivajee Chandrabhushan the National Award winning director began his career as a Photographer. Then he shifted to producing music videos for Indian Television. He has produced one of the very successful music videos “Channa Vey”. Also a trained mountaineer and trekker, his interest in travelling coupled with a love for film making culminated into a journey to Ladakh. With a firm belief that any project undertaken should be made with love and dedication, Shivajee began the grueling task of producing and directing Frozen- his first feature length film.

His first film Frozen internationally premiered at Toronto International Film Festival has won
more than 20 International Awards, including, Best Director at Cines Del Sur, Spain, Best 
Director at MAMI, Special Jury at Osian’s Cinefan, Best Film and Best Music at Imagine India Festival, Madrid, Best Film at Vladivostok Festival Russia.

It was screened at prestigious International Festivals like Rotterdam, Palm Springs, San Francisco, Pusan and Toronto International Film Festival among many others.

Frozen was awarded two National Awards (President’s medal) in India. Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus) to director/producer Shivajee Chandrabhushan- Indira Gandhi Award for Best First Feature of a director and Best Cinematography (Silver Lotus) to Shanker Raman.

He was in the International Jury at the Vladivostok International Film Festival in Russia, 
September 2010.

His second film ONE MORE was selected for the Asian Project Market at Busan International Film Festival and won the Pan Star Cruise Award. 
His upcoming film THE UNTOLD TALE an Indo – French co-production was selected in the 
project development section of Cannes Film Festival’s Cinefondation program L’Atelier in 
2012. 
Presently he is shooting a documentary on Tibetan Buddhism titled “Mount of Excellence” 
at Palpung Sherabling Monastery in Himachal Pradesh.
