Event Description : Old World Culture & Theatreworms Productions present "Flesh" English play.
Based on the book titled 'The Pregnant King' written by the celebrated author Devdutt Pattanaik.
Flesh is a sub-story of Mahabharata in which Yuvanashva, a childless king, accidentally drinks a magic potion meant to make his queens pregnant and gives birth to a son. This opens up new dimensions of gender identity for Yuvanashva. Is he the child's father or mother? Will his situation be accepted by the society at large? The play looks at gender, its related myths and dilemmas and the importance they play in our lives today.
