Event Description : "Lost in Nature" a solo show of paintings by Shambhavi Chadha.

Shambhavi Chadha is a 17 year old, 11th Grade student from Sanskriti School, New Delhi. She has been painting since the age of 11 and in oil colours over the last 4 years, a medium in which she has acquired a deep interest. Her work is distinguished by its simplicity and her love for nature. Shambhavi's second exhibition shows how much she has progressed as an artist both in technique as well as in content. Her landscapes and compositions are well saturated and retain the freshness and deftness of the natural settings that she takes her inspiration from. In her paintings one experiences the joy and celebration in the act of painting.

Shambhavi Critique by Renu Rana, Editor – Indian Creative Mind
The mother of a six year old finds her child obsessively doodling. She recognizes the child’s yearning to express through drawing. She holds her hand and leads her to the beautiful world of art. This was Shambhavi’s first step towards the journey of artistic expression.  Under appropriate tutelage, she grasped the fine nuances of composition, color and line.
One solo exhibition old, Shambhavi takes her next bold step ahead, and prepares for another art show at the Experimental Art Gallery, India Habitat Centre.  The new oeuvre consists of lively and effervescent paintings. It is significant how freely she chooses her style and idiom of expression, preferring the ever evolving nature to all else around her. Shambhavi’s art is an expression of deeply felt connect with nature together with a freshness of artistic approach.  Painted spontaneously in unusual harmonies of color, Shambhavi’s paintings posses an instant appeal.
The lilacs and pinks in one of her works, along with a lily pond are somewhat reflective of Monet’s expressionism. She takes a vantage perspective and sees nature at its best behavior. The sky, the waters are mostly calm, though their varying moods are quite evident.
The pigmentation is thickly applied and using numerous shades of green, she dabs them to bring the trees and bushes alive. In the sections of the paintings where she depicts the sky, she changes her dabbing technique to smooth brush strokes, layering it with hues. Some works may seem weak compositionally, but she quickly makes it up chromatically. She has grasped the aesthetics well and doesn’t let monotony set in any of her paintings; she sneaks in a warm color.
Shambhavi seems to be passionate about painting and passion never fails you. Many distractions may come in her young life, but this love for nature and putting it in visual form will see her through. The ladder of success is imminently in sight!
