Jefferson in Paris (1995) is perhaps the most controversial of all MIP films. It concerns the speculation on whether US President Thomas Jefferson had fathered a child with his 15-year-old slave Sally Hemings, in his youth. The film is located in France, set against the backdrop of the French Revolution.
