Event Description : Behroopiya Entertainers in association with Curtain Call Production presents "The Park" Hinglish comedy play.
The play is a sarcastic comment on the growing intolerance amongst us as what starts of as light hearted altercation evolves into a serious conflict about space, territory and ownership.
To sum up in one line in the play, uttered by one of the character is that this bench belongs to him because he came here before all of them and hence he has a history to this place. The statement sticks to the mind in synonymous with reflective of the current times that we live in. On a simplistic level it is a comedy about three men in a park fighting for their place; there are three benches but not enough. The play touches upon that thing which is at a premium these days – space – literally and metaphorically. What starts of as light hearted banter evolves into a serious conflict about space, territory and ownership. These become the main issues. Park can be many things; it can be a metaphor for home.
