Event Description : Dilli Haat Utsav: Celebration of India's cultural diversity

The flagship tourism promotion festival of Delhi Tourism in collaboration with Department of Art, Culture and Languages (Government of Delhi), Dilli Haat Utsav has successfully reached its 7th weekend. Dilli Haat Utsav began on September 13, 2014 and is scheduled to continue in the same spirit till March 31, 2015. Lively evenings full of fun, frolic and entertainment are being offered with an exclusive journey to the cultural territory. Artists from institutions like Hindi Academy, Punjabi Academy, Sahitya Kala Parishad etc are showcasing their talent at Dilli Haats every weekend (6 PMonwards). This series of festival is marked by unique music and dance performances.

This week's schedule focuses on artistic diversity of the country, and promises a cocktail of different and unique cultures of India. Artists from every nook and corner of the city have been invited to present their talent and captivate the audience with a joyful evening full of divergent artistic expressions.

Few highlights of innovative initiative of Dilli Haat Utsav:

Tourism promotion: Dilli Haats are now coming out as the new cultural joints in Delhi. Festivities and celebrations rarely end here. Local as well as international tourists are offered a lively and active hangout offering window to whole of India.

Platform to new artists: New and seasoned artists have been given an organised platform to perform. Dilli Haat Utsav offers them a systematic space to gather fans and make a name for themselves.

Strengthening Cultures: The initiative aims to strengthen options for cultural delights in the city. People are offered with an alternative arena for spending time and discovering India's exclusivity comprising three C's (Crafts, Culture and Cuisine).

Handloom and Handicrafts: The huge footfall has contributed in increasing sales of handicraft and handloom artists. Craftsmen from around the country have put up stalls to directly link with buyers and sell their product without the involvement of any middlemen.

Indian Cuisines: The places offering food from diverse Indian cuisines under one roof and at economical prices rarely exist. Take a nibble from Manipur, taste Punjab and head Mumbai for some Vada Pao. With so much diverse food, you are allowed to experiment your eating as much.

The schedule of this weekend is as follows (all performances to begin 6 PMonwards):
Dilli Haat Janak Puri: Sarang Arts from Hindi Academy will be presenting folk dance from different states on Saturday. Anjuman Goyal from Sahitya Kala Parishad will be showcasing a musical performance on Sunday.
Dilli Haat Pitampura: Shyam Arts from Sahitya Kala Parishad is scheduled to present Manipuri folk dance to lighten up the evening on Sunday.

Please note: Dilli Haat INA will be the venue for a pet competition on Saturday (November 1, 2014).
