Event Description : Behroopiya Entertainers in association with Loony Goons and Comedy Central presents The NRI Girls, English Standup Comedy with Sindhu V and Vasu Primlani.
SindhuV is a London based Indian stand up comedian. People have laughed at her all her life. She has now made lemonade with her lemons and performs all over the UK including the Edinburgh Fringe where she featured in 2012 and 2013. She was a finalist in the UK's Funny women Awards in 2013 and will be judging in the competition this year. Ultimately, she's a desi girl and as they say, you can take the girl out of desh (and she can marry a non-desi, have lots of foreigner looking kids, develop a slight accent) but you can't take desh out of..... Vasu Primlani : Vasu’s pioneering stand‐up comedy is based on a scintillating look at life through the environment, based on her work in the United States, very strong social commentary, inter personal relationships, seeing India through new eyes
(including how George Bush is like her mother), gender politics, and experiences of an immigrant bumping into the culture and the laws of the United States. She is a keen observer of life around her, is often baffled by meaningless events and things. She constantly questions the notion of ‘normal’, and challenges the male-dominated and heterosexist mindset of society. She is best known for her physical humor and deadpan expressions. She is an award-winning environmentalist.
