About the Organization : Happy Hands Foundation is a non-profit working to revive traditional arts, and crafts of India. Our vision is to foster a culturally-rich people by creating meaningful interaction with the arts, generating appreciation for cultural heritage and restoring dignity in crafts-practice. Our rural projects run in 13 states of India, empowering more than 1200 artisans. The Foundation regularly conducts exhibits, fellowships, exchanges and workshops to encourage public participation.

INTACH’s Intangible Cultural Heritage division has worked on documentation and research projects on dance, folk music, drama, and oral narratives. It is also undertaking the cultural mapping of tribes in Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Assam, Diu and Daman, Jammu, and Madhya Pradesh. The division has brought out many publications including a manual on intangible heritage documentation, a book on folklore, medieval cuisine, ancient manuscripts, and most recently, on the cultural mapping of the Baiga people.
