The timeless see-saw of negotiating desire, purpose and second chances are at the heart of this saucy, satirical, multi-media, musical theatre set to folk pop beats which gives a modern day spin to the lives of three of Rabindranath Tagore’s women. Two fictional characters and his own sister-in-law, forbidden love and muse, Kadambari Devi, travel from the 19th to the 21st century to realize that their inner struggles remain much the same.

18th October : 4:30 pm & 7:00 pm

"Boiled Beans On Toast" (Eng/120mins with 15mins intermission)
Director : Lillete Dubey.
Cast:  Joy Sengupta, Meenal Patel, Deepika Amin, Avantika Akerkar, Maneesh Verma , Swati Das, Avnish Mehra,  Gillian Pinto & Divya Unny. The play   traces the interwoven lives of  half-a-dozen people who have opted to live in Bangalore.  They are very different from
each other, belonging to widely divergent social strata, and from widely separated geographical  corners.  Starting from under a single roof, these lives branch out in diverse directions, get entangled in the swirl of life outside where they lose track of themselves, separate or  unexpectedly  collide and careen off each other. The city is Bangalore, but anyone familiar with life in a modern Indian megalopolis will instantly respond to this portrayal of urban aspirations, conflict, blind groping and violence.

19th October : 4:00 pm

"Dastan Goopi Bagha Ki (Hin/Urdu/60mins)
Director : Mahmood Farooqui.
Performed by Ankit Chaddha & Poonam Girdhani. Dastan Goopi Bagha Ki attempts to capture the essence of the story of two of the most popular Satyajit Ray characters - Goopi the singer and Bagha the drummer. Their antics and their transformation from being simple village bumpkins, who are chased out of their respective villages, to musicians who hold their audience spellbound, forms the crux of the story. Warring kings, beautiful, coy princesses and the ghost king who grants them the life changing boons are some of the other interesting characters. Musical parts add an interesting element to the Dastan.

19th October : 6:00 pm

"Dastan Alice Ki(Hindi/Urdu/60mins)
Director : Mahmood Farooqui
Performed by Fouzia and Valentina Trivedi. A dastan based on Lewis Carroll's world famous classics 'Alice's adventures in Wonderland', and 'Through the Looking Glass'. The story starts with Alice entering the fantasy land and discovering the world through the looking glass. After her size changes multiple times, Alice begins her journey on the chessboard to become a queen.
