Event Description : SaMaPa (Sopori Academy of Music And Performing Arts) in collaboration with IHC and Old World Culture presents "Concert for Kashmir".

A musical evening to express our solidarity and raise funds for the Kashmir flood victims featuring some of the young maestro of Indian music -

Abhay Rustum Sopori (Santoor), Ajay Prasanna (Flute),Chandrima Majumdar (Sarod), Kamal Sabri (Sarangi),Meeta Pandit (Vocal), Nitin Sharma (Vocal), Ojesh Pratap Singh (Vocal), Ragini Rainu (Sufi Vocal), Ritesh & Rajnish Mishra (Vocal), Salil Bhatt (Satvik Veena), Saskia Rao De Haas (Cello), Shubhendra Rao (Sitar) and others.

The recent floods have perhaps been the worst natural catastrophe Jammu and Kashmir State has faced. The “Concert for Kashmir” is an initiative by the great music legend Pandit Bhajan Sopori, hailed as the cultural bridge of J&K with the rest of the country, and music maestro Abhay Rustum Sopori. The concert is part of the series of fund raiser programmes organized by the father and son duo. It’s an attempt along with other groups and individuals from all over the world who are contributing enormously expressing their support to ensure the State esp. the Valley restores its glorious title of the “Paradise on Earth’ including the initiatives and works by State and the Central Govt. The funds raised through such charity concerts by SaMaPa shall be channelized towards the relief and rehabilitation process.
